Made my first sale!

It took a while longer than I expected, but on Wednesday I logged my first ever sale as a ClickBank affiliate. The sweet taste of success has energized my motivation to continue down this path at making money.

Here’s how it all happened.

On the weekend of the 29th of September I launched a new website: Quantitative Stock Secrets. I found a product on the ClickBank marketplace that fit with the niche I was going after and wrote up an article about it. Then I spent some time working on getting traffic to the site.

Over the two weeks since the launch of the site it received 650 visitors of which 80 clicked through to the page selling the ClickBank product. On Wednesday, someone opened their wallet!

The total payout for this one sale was $31.85 which is a pretty good commission for a $47 product.

This small success needs some positive reinforcement, so I’m going out for a nice diner this evening.

What’s the next step? The biggest concern that I have for the site is that the traffic is erratic. I want to get the site up to a consistent 200 visitors per day. To do that, I’m going to widen the funnel to drive more traffic and generate more backlinks to the site. I’ll write some more content to the site and create links back to those individual posts. With some good Search Engine Optimization, the site should start to see some regular traffic from Google or Yahoo.

At the same time, I’m working on a product which I will be able to sell from the site. It’s a pretty difficult programming project, but once finished I’ll be able to sell it and make all the profit for myself.

Stumble it!
