Income from affiliate marketing far exceeds the same from google adsense.In affiliate marketing you are sure of your income per sale but in adsense you never know the rate per click because one day 10 clicks will fetch you 5$ and on other day it may not add up to a dollar.

you need the content from the blogging to generate traffic.

Just in place of Google Ads do up your own advertisement for a product that your readers might be interested in. Place the ad in and around the content of your blog the same way you would any other advertisement.
