One of the sites that continuously makes me envious of how much they make online is John Chow of johnchow.com.  John has been running his blog about making money online for about 2 years and in that time he has seen his monthy income increase dramatically.

The great thing about John’s blog is that he is very open about what he does to make money, and how much he makes.  At the end of every month he picks apart the numbers and lets everyone now how well he did.  It’s good motivation to know that it is possible to make more than a full time income with a blog.  For the year 2007 John Chow raked in approximately $180,000.

The truth is that just about anyone could get to that point.  All it takes is work and time.  Realize that what matters is traffic.  To get traffic you need to do two things:

1. Write content that people want to read.
2. Let people know that the content is there.

Miss one of these two crucial pieces and the site won’t have traffic and won’t make any money.  But if you have  enough good content and advertise the hell out of it you can drive significant numbers.  With a good site design you can then convert them to traffic that pays.

It really is possible to make serious amounts of money online.  check out Frank Kern’s Mass Control.  It’s insane how much money this guy makes.
