GTrends Made Easy

I’ve been using the gtrends technique taught by ed dale during the 2007 30 Day Challenge.  But I’ve just come across the Gtrends Made Easy software tool.

If you don’t know, gtrends was a technique to determine accurate estimates for the number of visitors for the first site listed in a google search. Using Google trends you can compare a known site against the seach phrase that you’re interested in to get a pretty good estimate on traffic numbers.

The implications are that you can estimate the size of a particular niche and the amount of traffic that you could actually get with good placement in Google.  It’s a key part of the research that I’ve been doing to check the size of a niche.

The software available for free at benjaminmaker.com is a great tool that expands on the base functionality quite a bit. I recommend you check it out.
