I’m getting myself streamlined to produce and publish video content. The Apple computer with built in webcam, a good quality microphone, ScreenFlow for screen capture, and now Amazon S3 to distribute the content.

S3 is Amazon’s Simple Storage Service. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a scalable storage solution that you pay a per use. You can leverage Amazon’s vast computer architecture and efficiencies of scale for yourself. It is a very cheap way to distribute content on the internet, especially larger files like videos.

Signing up for the service was really painless. It costs nothing to set up and if you already have an Amazon.com account it takes less than 2 minutes before you’re ready to upload and serve out some content.
