Inevitability thinking is what the movie "the secret" is based upon. Basically you can will things in your favor by positive thinking - that's the concept at least.

oh ok. hmm he mentions something about milton erickson making 'what he wanted to have happen automatic' by doing things like making alcoholics walk 5 miles to the liquor store to have a drink.. but i'm not sure if it was discussed in depth

Tony robbins always talks about 'commit yourself to action by . . . ' setting up accountability, calling a gym buddy, making a public commitment, flushing all the shit food in your house down the toilet (for overweight folks).. but he never really talks about 'making it inevitable'

I'd like to find out more ways than just 'having an accountability partner' because honestly it's hard to find a friend that would actualy cash a cheque if i gave it to them. The ones who would, probably would just think i was a total weirdo for doing the whole accountability thing, so i gotta find people around me that are open to self help AND will cash cheques lol

As far as I can tell Eben Pagan coined the term inevitability thinking. That's who I got the idea from. I'm sure the concept is old, but without knowing what other people call the technique is nearly impossible to find other perspectives on it.

If you find anything please let me know.
